GTII update progress, and the new scenario

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Slowly but surely the 1.1.1 update is coming along. Most of my time has been spent designing the new scenario, it’ll be using some new little tricks and ideas different from any of the current scenarios! I’ll have some more details next week, once I get the overall layout down. The central theme is using the Arena entrance to select a “level” or new area that you travel to, a different start location will send you to a different arena tier. So it’ll end up being more rpg/adventure orientated, should be fun.

I’ve also been spending time on the new interface, I’ve got a semi-working design up and running and it’s alot more user-friendly than the current layout. It also increases the viewable area while at the camp, which is a bonus! I haven’t yet touched the Arena’s GUI, that may just stay as is for now as I haven’t felt it was too big a problem. As mentioned on the forums, this won’t be in the next update but possibly in the 1.2 release. I won’t touch too much more on this until after the next update is done, but thought it was worth a mention to those a little frustrated by the current interface.

Gladiator Trials II Mac Port

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Ok, it’s the first blog post and such so the format may change over the next few posts…

Onto the guts of it, the Mac OSX port has been completed! It’s quite a different process to package/setup the game, this whole drag and drop/no-install method and not to mention ‘packages’… I’m slowly getting my head around it, I’ve had to re-work the launcher alittle to have it function on the Mac side.

Work on the next update continues as well, I’ll give a progress report next week. For now I’ll be swamped trying to market the Mac version.

And as it is a new week, I’ve updated the online manual for Gladiator Trials II. ThisĀ  update brings in two new sections, the Peasant and Gladiator. They aren’t 100% complete yet, I may add more information but they do cover the basics.
